DACAA SEEKS COOPERATION OF SECURITY AGENCIES
Domestic Airport Cargo Agents Association(DACAA) is seeking full cooperation of all the security agencies in the Nigerian aviation industry to have peaceful environment where people can carry out their businesses.
In addition, members of the Association are imploring the authorities if possible to organize a refresher course on security tips to keep them abreast on security issues.
In his inaugural speech, the new chairman of the Association,Monday Subair said the association is faced with numerous challenges nation wide in all the viable airports noting that the authorities have not been able to recognize DACAA as an important department in the aviation industry.
“There is no proper cargo place in all the airports and if properly harnessed would become a huge income generating source to FAAN in particular and Nigeria economy at large.”
“We request FAAN to have us on their plan to build befitting cargo hall in all the airports across the country, it is a huge source of revenue.”
According to Subair,at the time of remodeling the General Aviation Terminal(GAT)in 2011,the cargo hall and all the other offices were demolished. At the time of reconstruction, the blue print did not capture cargo department.
Unfolding his plans,”The focus of this administration will be centred on the implementation of a corporate strategy to reposition the Association to a higher operational effectiveness, and continue relevance in the larger Nigerian Society through and individual empowerment.”
