Update on Runway
| Progress report of the ongoing work on RUNWAY 18L/36R Work commenced on the 8/7/22 with mobilization of equipment and workers. y barriers with obstacle Light. Marking of the RWY centreline light commenced and 240m marking from the threshold 18L was done. Digging of cable trenches from the switch room 18L to Approach commenced same day. On the 10/7/22 , marking of the touchdown zone light and runway centerline light continue and upto 410m from 18L was done Digging of cable trenches continued. On the 11, 12/7/22, digging of cable trenches and marking of centreline and touchdown light continued. On the 13/7/22 Marking of the TDZ and RWY centreline light progressed to 840m. Cutting of links to transformer pit commenced. Fabrication of cable rollers also commenced. On the 14/7/22, marking of TDZ light completed while that of RWY centreline light continued. Digging of cable trenches completed at Approach area and continues from there to C1 holding position Cutting of the pavement for insert of fittings commenced. On the 15/7/22 The Marking of runway Centreline, Digging of cable trenches at 18L and 36R and Cutting of pavement for the inset fittings continued On the 16/07/2022 2. Marking of runway Centreline completed 3. Digging of cable trenches at approach 18L and from the left side of the Runway and taxiway C completed 4. Cutting of pavement for the inset fittings continued 5. fixing of fittings on the pavement with the elevated fittings 30m prior to the threshold commenced The last week heavy downpour rain affected the progress but so far so good , work is progressing well |
