Seven-Star Sweep: Air Peace dominates NIGAV 2026 with record haul, rising global stature

In a defining night for African aviation, West and Central Africa’s leading carrier, Air Peace, delivered a historic performance at the 2026 Nigerian Aviation (NIGAV) Awards in Lagos, securing an unprecedented seven awards in a single night; a record achievement that reinforces its leadership in safety, innovation, and service excellence.
Held at the NIGAV Conference Centre in Ikeja, the ceremony brought together top industry stakeholders, including representatives of the Enugu State Government, the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
Air Peace’s wins cut across major categories, including Airline Executive Chief of the Year (Dr. Allen Onyema, Chairman & CEO), Nigerian Commercial Airline of the Year, Nigeria’s Best West Africa Sub-Regional Airline of the Year, Best Air Travel Mobile App of the Year, Best In-flight Magazine (Alice Magazine), Best Airport Lounge of the Year, and Pilot of the Year (Male Category, Captain Callistus Ifeanyi).
Notably, three awards, including Dr. Allen Onyema’s leadership honour, Alice Magazine, and the West Africa Sub-Regional Airline title, were retained for a second consecutive year, underscoring consistency and sustained excellence.
The NIGAV Awards, now in its 15th edition, remain one of the industry’s most respected platforms for recognising excellence in safety, innovation, customer service, and operational performance.
Speaking after the ceremony, Air Peace spokesperson, Mr. Efe Osifo-Whiskey, described the recognition as both humbling and motivating, noting that it reflects the airline’s commitment to raising standards, enhancing passenger experience, and strengthening Nigeria’s position as a key aviation hub in Africa. He credited the achievement to the vision of leadership and the dedication of staff across all operations.
Beyond the accolades, Air Peace continues to expand its domestic and international network, invest in modern fleet development, and enhance digital and premium services such as its unified customer messaging application and loyalty programme, positioning the airline for stronger global competitiveness.
