President Appoints Dr Ismaila Adamu as NCAT Rector

The  Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria  is tackling headlong impediments in the institution that hinder it from admitting more candidates for its courses.

Dr. Danjuma Adamu  Ismaila,Rector of the College revealed this in his opening remarks on Monday during the League of Airport and Aviation Correspodents Course in Zaria.

With proper infrastructure in place,he said the College will meet the ever rising in the numbers of candidates seeking admission into the School from within and outside the country.

The Rector noted that NCAT run over  200 programmes for all the sectors of  aviation in Nigeria and beyond.

“ Despite some challenges, inadequate accommodation, the college is striving hard to position itself as the leading centre for manpower development in the country.”

According to him, NCAT is constructing  150 room  hostel  to address the acute shortage of accommodation.

On facilities,Dr. Ismaila disclosed that the College will be acquiring B727 flight simulator to boost training of pilots.

“If many facilities are provided , there may be no need for aviation personnel to travel overseas for training given the capacity of the college to block the huge gap in training needs.”

The Rector further stated that  plans were on by the management to expand courses offered in the college to reflect evolving trends and technology in the global air travel space.

“ NCAT is embarking on an aggressive carbon emission programme in line with the directives rolled out by global aviation regulatory body, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)”.

“The college has continued to achieve many feat with the training of scores of air traffic controllers from neighbouring countries in English Language , one of the requirements by ICAO.”
