NCAA presents Remotely Piloted Aircraft System Operation Certificate to Starwing Aviation Limited

In the demonstration of her firm commitment to safety and ease of doing business without compromising standards, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has presented the Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) Operations Certificate (ROC) to Starwing Aviation Limited after a painstaking process. The Director-General, Civil Aviation (DGCA), Capt. Chris Najomo, performed the presentation today, June 3, 2025, at the Authority’s headquarters in Abuja. While describing the event as a significant achievement, the DGCA charged the company to maintain the certificate as its compliance is more critical. The Director, Aerodrome and Airspace Standards, Engr. Godwin Balang, outlined the rigorous certification process closely observed throughout the ROC approval process as well as the importance of security and bird strike prevention which are part of operational safety. Dr. Harold Demuren, in his closing remarks, expressed appreciation to the NCAA for the pivotal step towards making Nigeria the centre for drone operations in Africa, assuring that Starwing aviation will demonstrate compliance at every stage of their operations. Mr. Demuren Kunmi, Managing Director, Starwings, in his vote of thanks, expressed gratitude to the DGCA, Capt. Chris Najomo, Engr. Balang, and the NCAA Licensing team for their co-operation and guidance. |
