NCAA PREPARES FOR ICAO AUDIT
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) is working assiduously with other aviation agencies to put Nigeria in a good position for the forthcoming International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) safety audit of the Agency. The exercise will provide the opportunity for the ICAO officials to look through the books and see if NCAA meets the standards and recommended practices sets by the International aviation regulatory agency. According to the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority Capt.Musa Nuhu,the ICAO audit team will “ go into the industry, they will go to Nigerian Airspace Management Agency( NAMA)Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria,( FAAN) and go to any selected airlines to see whether we are actually complying with what we have in our books.” “We have made significant progress and there is still some work to be done but are working on it, we hope in a couple of months before the audit, will be fully ready”. “We have consultative meetings all the time with NAMA and FAAN, in NCAA, we have our own internal meetings and this week, we are going to have a meeting with NAMA and Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMET) on their preparations Musa said that NCAA” will have another meeting and feedback of progress before the end of the month with the agencies and in February we will start with the industry, the private sector, we select the airlines and carry them along on our preparations.” . |
