NCAA debunks issuance of licence to unqualified candidates
Capt.Musa Nuhu
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority(NCAA) does not issue licence to people who attend schools that are not approved by the regulatory agency. In addition,it does not append its signature to training institutions that fall short of set standards.
Cpt.Musa Nuhu,Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority made the clarification at stakeholders meeting in Lagos with the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development,Mr.Festus Keyamo.
“I want to make it categorically clear that NCAA does not and has not licensed anybody that attended unapproved schools.I need to make this clear before the wrong message is sent out that will not be in the interest of the country.”
He said even if the person attends the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology(NCAT) in Zaria,it does not mean he will automatically be issued licence by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
Nuhu explained that NCAT will still have to send the records of performance of the candidate to NCAA.If he or she fails, no licence for such candidate.
He challenged anyone to come with contrary facts to prove him wrong.Capt.Nuhu advised against carrying unverified information about the sector so as not to mislead the public.
