Investment in workforce will lead to transformation of Nigeria’s air navigation services-NAMA boss

Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency(NAMA),Engr,Umar Farouk has said transformation of Nigeria’s air navigation services will not be realized without deliberate investment in our workforce.
He noted that continuous training, personal development, effective leadership, and the activation of an appropriate organizational culture are the driving forces behind sustainable progress.
His remark was delivered on his behalf by the Director of Human Resources and Administration,Ambinbola Ladipo at the Directorate of Air Traffic Services Retreat,Ibadan,Oyo State.
He said he recognised the unwavering dedication, professionalism. and resilience shown by our Air Traffic Services (ATS) personnel,noting that “You are the guardians of safety in our skies—silent yet vigilant protectors who ensure order, efficiency, and predictability in an increasingly intricate airspace. “
According to him,their responsibilities are demanding and often executed under demanding conditions, yet they consistently exhibit precision in your work. For this. the Agency extends its profound gratitude.
The theme of this year’s retreat—”Empowering People, Elevating Safety: Advancing Air Traffic Services Through Training and Culture (A Skilled Team for a Safer Sky)”—is both timely and relevant.
As aviation evolves rapidly, influenced by advancing technologies, increasing traffic demands, and global safety requirements, our strength is firmly rooted in our people.
While airspace infrastructure is crucial, and technology is indispensable, it is the human element that remains paramount. It is empowered, well-trained, and ethically centered professionals who interpret information, make rapid decisions, and uphold the highest safety standards.
