Former workers of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) under the agies of Former Airport Administrators Network (FAANET) has debut, with Comrade Jolly Iyotoide Ndidi (Retired General Manager, Human Resources, FAAN) as its pioneer Board of Trustees (BOT) chairman and Comrade Adetomiwa Simeon Kolawole (Retired General Manager, Credit Control, FAAN) as secretary.

The other pioneer BOT members include Engr. Sadiq Muhammad Tijjani (Retired Director of Engineering Services, FAAN), Hajia Salamatu Baiwa Umar-Eluma (Retired Director of Human Resources, FAAN), Alh. Ibrahim Daiyabu Sulaiman (Retired General Manager, FAAN), Comrade Awolowo Okogbo (a retired officer of ARFFS, FAAN), and Mrs. Nwokoye Ebele Angela (a retired officer of Operations Directorate, FAAN).

According to statement by the BOT chairman, Comrade Jolly Ndidi, the new body  duly registered with and recognised by the Corporate Affairs Commission, will become very active in helping to shape and foster continuous improvements in airport administration in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, he commended the current Management and staff of FAAN for the infrastructural and proces improvements in our airports.  He urged the government to fund FAAN adequately so that she can deliver world class and state of the art facilities and services in airports in Nigeria.

Comrade Ndidi stated that the major expectation of FAANET BOT is that interested veterans will come forward actively to play leading roles in the various organs of FAANET.

A statement issued by the Board of Trustees indicated “We saw the need to give a voice to the collateral wealth of knowledge we have garnered in our service to our fatherland, as airport administrators spanning many years, in order to connect the past with the present”.

Comrade Ndidi noted that it will be unfair to the country that has invested too much in our lives to seat back without giving back to the system.

According to him, FAANET debut will sharpen the system, proffer solutions to myriads of problems in the aviation sector, from experiential perspectives and rich institutional memory.

The Trustees express deep gratitude to some veterans in the sector for their support towards the registration of FAANET.

They include,

  • Emeto Phillips
  • J. B. Shalangwa
  • M. A. Akewushola
  • Engr. Sadiq M. Tijani.

The BOT congratulated all FAAN veterans on the registration of FAANET.
