The contact staff of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) have commended the management of the Authority for extending its Public Relations Pep Talk to the regional offices across the country, describing the initiative as timely, enriching, and a morale booster for enhanced productivity.

The training programme, held under the theme “Character and Relationship for Maximum Productivity”, took place at the Port Harcourt, Kaduna, and Kano Regional Offices.

The workshop, which was conceptualized and facilitated by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SAPTCO Public Relations, Mr. Sam Adurogboye was earlier organized for cleaners and security personnel at the NCAA Headquarters in Abuja and Lagos Regional Office.

However, the current management, in its commitment to capacity building, approved its extension to other regions to further strengthen the organization’s frontline engagement and service delivery.

Participants described the interactive sessions, which were adopted by use of PowerPoint and discussion methods to ensure their easy assimilation and active engagement as enriching.

Focus areas of training included the role of contact staff as the interface between NCAA and its publics, proper dressing and professional reception for visitors and understanding NCAA’s activities, key personnel, vision, and mission.

Others are how to reinforce the Authority’s core values, professionalism, honesty & integrity, honour & respect, and the need to value everyone.

The rest include how to encourage teamwork, punctuality, courtesy, and responsibility in the workplace as well as discouraging negative behaviours such as truancy, laziness, theft, and leaking official information.

Furthermore, the contact expressed appreciation to the Director General of NCAA, Captain Chris Najomo and the management for the training and the recent upward review of their salaries and emoluments.

However, they unanimously pleaded for regular organization of similar training programmes to sustain productivity gains, recruitment of additional hands to reduce current work overload and urged the agency to conduct thorough background checks on all outsourced personnel, including those from handling companies and the Nigerian Legion.

They also called for the administration of an oath of secrecy for outsourced staff to protect sensitive organizational information, the extension of the pep talk to the general NCAA workforce, given its practical relevance to overall corporate efficiency, and the adoption of digital security systems to further enhance the safety of personnel and property within the authority.

Highlights of the training sessions featured robust interactive discussions and question-and-answer engagements just as participants enthusiastically requested that they be allowed to wear their branded T-shirts as official attire every Wednesday, as a symbol of unity and team spirit.

Mr. Adurogboye affirmed that the programme underscored NCAA’s commitment to building a motivated, disciplined, and professional workforce capable of projecting the agency’s image positively to the public.
