Aviation Minister impressed with rate of progress at Victor Attah Airport

Aviation Minister and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has visited Akwa Ibom State where he under took inspection tour of the ongoing developments at the Victor Attah International Airport in the State.
He was accompanied in the tour by the state Governor Umo Eno,top government functionaries from Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development and that of the state government.
Impressed by the progress, the Minister expressed his commendation for the state government’s remarkable achievements in aviation infrastructure.
He singled out the nearing completion of the New Terminal building, hailing it as the best terminal facility constructed by any sub-national entity in the country.
The state-of-the-art terminal is equipped to handle both domestic and international flight operations simultaneously, showcasing the Akwa Ibom Government’s commitment to advancing aviation capabilities.
During the tour guided by Governor Umo Eno, the Minister highlighted the strategic significance of the airport’s Maintenance, Repairs, and Overhaul (MRO) facility.
Describing it as the first of its kind in the country, the Minister emphasized that the MRO would serve not only Nigeria but also the entirety of West, East, and North Africa.
Governor Eno’s dedication to the completion of these pioneering projects received special acknowledgment from the Aviation Minister.
The inspection covered key areas such as the MRO, the upcoming terminal building, and the newly constructed taxiway, all of which contribute to the airport’s growing prominence.
Governor Eno is seeking collaboration with the Federal Government to fully harness the airport’s potential.
The prospect of utilizing the airport’s state-of-the-art facilities for the benefit of the nation aligns with the government’s broader vision for advancing the aviation sector.
The Akwa Ibom Government’s commitment to aviation development, as recognized by the Aviation Minister, marks a significant milestone in the region’s infrastructure and positions Victor Attah International Airport as pivotal for air travel across the African continent.
