It was a moment of pride and celebration at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, as the Aeronautical operator’s course *AO32* marked its Graduation and Award Ceremony with the recognition of outstanding individuals, including the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk, and the Director of Air Traffic Services (DATS), Mr. John Tayo.

The colourful event, held on Friday, October 24, 2025, brought together aviation professionals, instructors, students, and dignitaries from across the sector to celebrate academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to service.

Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk, NAMA Managing Director, was honoured with a distinguished award in appreciation of his visionary leadership and tireless efforts toward advancing Nigeria’s air navigation services.

The organizers praised him for driving innovation, improving airspace safety, and fostering collaboration between NAMA and aviation training institutions like NCAT.

Similarly, the Director of Air Traffic Services, Mr. John Tayo, received a special recognition award for his exemplary leadership and dedication to enhancing air traffic management across the country.

His efforts in ensuring operational efficiency,

capacity development, and safety improvement were highlighted as key milestones in strengthening Nigeria’s airspace operations.

In addition to the awards presented to the NAMA executives, the event celebrated the graduating AO32 students, who successfully completed their rigorous academic and practical training in air traffic control and aviation operations.

The graduates were commended for their discipline, perseverance, and professionalism, which will further strengthen Nigeria’s aviation workforce.

The ceremony, which took place at the NCAT Auditorium, reaffirmed the strong partnership between NAMA and NCAT in building the next generation of aviation professionals and promoting a culture of excellence, safety, and innovation in the Nigerian aviation industry.
