The Federal Airports Authority Nigeria(FAAN) has said that it  regrets any inconvenience caused by the diversion of the two Kano bound aircraft to Lagos.

It attributed it  to the unserviceability of the runway lights of Runway 06/24 in Kano.

In a press statement signed by Abdullahi Yakubu-Funtua,Director Public Affairs and Consumer Protection said the faults which led to the runway blackout has been rectified.

Night operations  has since resumed as  new cables were installed  on  Sunday , 16 July  , 2023 leading  to  restoration  of all runway  lights  before  commencement  of night  operations.
