Yadudu charges AVSEC to live up to expectations
The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria(FAAN) Capt.Hamisu Yadudu has implored the newly passed out Aviation Security (AVSEC) not to rest on their oars, but rather should immediately begin to apply all that they have learnt during the training in the course of their duties at their respective stations.
Yadudu who was speaking at the passing out parade of381 security cadet of FAAN said that With commitment, focus and patriotic zeal, the Agency will definitely reshape the course of aviation security and safety at” our respective airports hence, taking it to greater heights.”
He said the passing out parade witnessed has authenticated the fact that there is ample evidence that this crop of cadets has been put through the mills and has come out refined and ready to contribute their quota in safe guarding Civil Aviation against acts of unlawful interference
He commended the internal / external facilitators and the entire Training faculty which has within 13 weeks, transformed, tutored and nurtured these cadets to the end point which” we see before us today.”
According to him,the Training has no doubt enhanced their counter-terrorism skills, conflict management skills, effective communication, information security and effective synergy with sister security agencies in ensuring a safe and secure environment which is one of the Aviation Security Principles.
He said that at a time of national security challenges, finding expression in myriad problems and threats such as terrorism, banditry, insurgency, kidnapping etc, the Aviation security STP 123 Training programme could not have come at a better time.
The STP 123 programme he said, by its design and practical administration of the AVSEC Trainees, will expose them to modern and time-tested ways of managing and drastically reducing National threats at our airports and beyond.
Yadudu noted that the crucial role of Training in critically reshaping and repositioning the human mind and enabling the skills capacity of personnel towards the attainment of organizational goals can never really be underestimated.
The FAAN Managing Director give credit to the Honourable Minister of Aviation Senator Hadi Sirika for his doggedness in the capacity building of personnel under his purview and for his exemplary leadership.
Capt.Yadudu congratulated the 381 Aviation Security Cadets, who have completed “this very crucial and timely course,a very big congratulation to you all.”
